Contagiously AWARE

Ways YOU Can Help

1. Give Blood

Giving blood greatly helps those living with SCD and other illnesses who routinely need blood transfusions. Right now, there is a massive nationwide blood shortage and lives are at stake. I would not be here today without someone donating blood; be a hero and save someone else.

3. Find Out Your Trait Status

Knowing your trait helps you to recognize how your future may look with children and your overall genetic identity. It's time we start getting informed now to be better prepared for the future. Ask your doctor to find out about your trait status.

2. Support Local Sickle Cell Organizations

As a youth ambassador of the Sickle Cell Foundation of TN, I can't stress enough the importance of knowing and supporting local foundations for the cause.

For Those With SCD

While it is awesome to spread awareness to supporters, I also believe in starting a community where youth living with Sickle Cell can come together and share stories. A next step to my mission would be creating a platform where youth with SCD can come together. In the meantime, below is a website with more resources and stories geared towards those living with SCD, and please feel free to reach out to me below if you are a youth living with SCD.
